anchored
for good
Anchored For Good supports Naval Aviation families — Navy and Marine Corps — facing cancer. We serve active duty, reserve (SELRES & TAR), and retired members of the aviation community, with a focus on families 49 and younger where cancer diagnoses are rising at an alarming rate.
Through financial support, trusted resources, and expanded access to early cancer screening, our mission is to help families navigate diagnosis with strength, community, and hope.
Our Mission
01
Anchored for Good supports Navy and Marine Corps aviation families under 50 that are impacted by cancer. We serve active duty, reserve (SELRES and TAR), and retired members of the aviation community through compassionate support, financial assistance, and expanded access to early cancer screening.
Whether it’s the service member, a spouse, or a child facing diagnosis, we are here to help ease the burden so families can focus on what matters most—healing, care, and resilience.
Together, we stand strong, anchored in hope, for those who have served and sacrificed.

Our Story
Gatlin was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in October 2022 at the age of 36. With no family history and only a few symptoms, it was a diagnosis that shocked us—and changed everything. Overnight, our world became filled with scans, second opinions, and the overwhelming logistics of navigating life with cancer as a young family.
As a Navy family, we’re no strangers to long separations, resilience, and unexpected change—but nothing prepared us for this. In the months that followed, we were connected with other naval aviation families who were also walking through cancer diagnoses. Their stories felt eerily familiar, and the need for community, support, and understanding became undeniably clear.
During one of the hardest seasons of our lives, we were also met with unexpected generosity. A handful of foundations, friends, and family helped us with travel expenses, out-of-town care, and even the emotional needs that arise when you're simply trying to hold your family together. It was their compassion—and the connection with other families—that planted the seed for Anchored For Good.
We spent the first 18 months of Gatlin’s treatment thinking, “When everything slows down, we’re going to do this.” We wanted to create something lasting—something that could stand in the gap for other families like ours. We’re still in the battle, but we couldn’t wait any longer.
Anchored For Good exists to support naval aviation families facing a cancer diagnosis. Whether it's through financial help, connection to resources, or simply knowing they're not alone, we are here to serve, encourage, and bring hope—even in the hardest seasons.
We are anchored for each other. Anchored in faith. Anchored for Good.
